Excavations have begun at the three sites that are the subject of this project: Venta Micena, Fuente Nueva 3 and Barranco León, where the oldest remains of human occupation in Western Europe are to be found.
A multidisciplinary team led by the University of Granada (UGR) has initiated a new excavation campaign arqueológicas en los deposits of OrceThe event, which will run until the end of the month, will include, among other novelties, the pioneering incorporation ofnew technologies to create three-dimensional reconstructions much more accurate of the environment.
Excavations have started at the same time at the three sites that are the subject of this project: Venta Micena, Fuente Nueva 3 y Barranco León, where the oldest remains of human occupation in Europe . The work was carried out by Juan Manuel Jiménez Arenas, a lecturer in the Department of Prehistory and Archaeology at the University of Granada and director of the project.
